You can see the authors passion! Excellent resource for the first time gardener or helpful times for those who have been doing it a long time!
A great guide for amateurs and even some tips for pros. Have been using the ideas for our school garden. Easy to read and funny.
In this book Julie shares her experience gardening in the challenging climate of Flagstaff, AZ. Between the elevation (7,000 ft), the latitude (low), the sun (intense - remember, this is Arizona!), the weather (snow in winter + monsoon rains, but otherwise dry), the wind and the varied soil (rocky, silt, clay...), a productive garden requires a lot of hard work AND creativity. Julie shares a lot of unusual practices she has developed to deal with these issues. Her methods work - for her, in her location - well enough for her to have a small produce stand to sell her excess virtually all summer.
